This traineeship will allow students to gain relevant employability skills, which will improve their future prospects of employment, apprenticeships and further education. You will learn a variety of practical skills, aimed at developing the key skills employers are looking for. You will gain skills on time management, job searching and applications, as well as sales and practical skills. This course focusses on business and professional employability skills as well as making sure that students undertake maths and English qualifications to set you up for the future. Students will also have a work placement as a practical element of their traineeships, which will help to use the skills in the world of employment.

On this traineeship, students will be:

  • Completing a skills audit and plan for the future
  • Learning about professional dress and behaviour
  • Writing a CV and personal statement
  • Job searching and filling out applications
  • Setting SMART targets
  • Time management and dealing with stressful situations
  • Learning about employment Law and knowing your rights
  • Planning for job interviews
  • Team building activities and communication skills
  • Telephone skills
  • Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
  • Sales techniques
This course will be assessed by projects and practical application.
There will be a work placement for students on the traineeship, which will be mandatory. 
Students can progress on to an apprenticeship, business course or employment after this course. 
Level 1 – 3 x GCSES at grades E or level 2/3 (including English and Maths)
