Job Description: Day to day activities and expectations within the role
An excellent start to your career in the NHS is a Business Administration apprenticeship.
There are plenty of opportunities to take further qualifications and move on in your career.
You could stay in administration, perhaps by becoming a team leader or supervisor.
You could go on to become an administration manager. You could also move into other
wider healthcare roles, too. If you like figures, you could use your skills and experience to
move into finance.
Summary of main duties
To provide a quality reception service, receiving visitors and booking appointments.
Dealing with confidential information.
Liaise with a wide range of staff, patients and visitors.
Input and retrieve a range of data onto the clinical system.
Deal with, or refer on as appropriate, internal and external telephone enquiries.
Undertake a range of clerical duties including filing, photocopying and data input.
Person Specification: This will be used for initial short-listing criteria
• A-D GCSE grades in English and maths or L1 functional skills
• Good Computer skills
• Well mannered
• Good telephone manner
• Friendly and outgoing manner
Qualification to be gained: Title and level
• NVQ Level 2 Business Admin Diploma
• Functional Skills English Level 1(if not already gained)
• Functional Skills Maths Level 1(if not already gained)
• Functional Skills ICT Level 1
