The Intermediate Level 2 Work Based Horticulture Apprenticeship will incorporate:

  • A Combined Technical and NVQ Diploma in Work-Based Horticulture. This technical (knowledge-based) qualification will provide you with industry based knowledge, understanding and realism in order to prepare you accordingly for completing specific tasks in the workplace. The NVQ components in Work-Based Horticulture will demonstrate your competencies in the work-place and will require you to undertake specific assessments in employment to gather evidence and demonstrate your capabilities.

  • Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 1. If the candidate has achieved a grade D at English and Maths Level 2 then they will not be required to undertake Functional Skills, however, if they haven’t achieved a grade D then they must complete this qualification within the apprenticeship model.
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities. The Qualification Framework is called Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning and will challenge individuals to raise standards within the workplace. The Award in Employment Awareness is designed to give you a solid introduction to working within the sport and active leisure industry. You'll gain greater awareness of the industry and what you can do to succeed in employment, as well as an understanding of roles, responsibilities and how employment law affects you and others.Alongside this framework, there will be an opportunity for students to engage within further added value qualifications such as First Aid at Work.
