Apprenticeship In Team Leading & Management

Typical median salary for a Team Leader is £27,000 - £29,000.

If you are aged 16-23 the Skills Funding Agency will fund the cost of the training.
If you are aged 24+ an employer contribution would be required.

Ideally A-D GCSE
Students should already be in a Team Leading position to allow them to collect the range of evidence required. 

This qualification is designed for new and aspiring team leaders and will provide an in-depth introduction to the role and its responsibilities. The ideal launch pad for your management career. The combined knowledge and competency based qualification is ideal for team leaders and managers. It provides learners with the opportunity to learn and implement the core skills needed in today’s dynamic business environment. 

Progression routes as part of the Management pathway include Level 3 Apprenticeship in Management.

As a student of Oldham College you will have full use of all the college facilities

The units in this qualification focus on the essential skills learners need to develop as Team Leaders. There are five mandatory units, looking at the principles of Team Leading and Management, workplace communication, understanding business and personal development. Plus there is a wide range of optional units to build management skills in a variety of areas such as customer service, health and safety and performance management. 

Level 2 Diploma in Team Leading (Combined Qualification)
Functional Skills Level 1 in English, Maths & ICT (unless already accredited)

This qualification will build upon your current role, whatever industry you work in. It will also develop your leadership skills. This qualification will improve your confidence and enable you to progress in Management with the skills and abilities to be fully effective as a Team Leader. 

Study Programme

All students at Oldham College will participate in a personalised study programme that will maximise your potential and enable you to progress onto employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

This means you will:

  • Study a core qualification in a vocational discipline and continue to develop your English and Maths skills through functional skills, GCSE resits and the option of Level 3 qualifications
  • Participate in meaningful work experience
  • Enjoy a range of enrichment opportunities e.g. basketball, archery, skiing and sign language
  • Take part in dedicated tutorial sessions to review your progress and development
