Who should contribute

Employers with fewer than 50 people working for them will be able to train 16-18-year-old apprentices without making a contribution towards the costs of training. The government will pay 100% of the training costs for these individuals.

Employers that recruit a 19-24 year old who has previously been in care or who has a local authority education, health and care plan, the government will also pay 100% of the training costs for these individuals. For all others, the employer will be required to pay a 10% contribution.
