Joinery Apprentice

Overview of the role (what will the learner be doing and what will the learner gain): We are looking to recruit an apprentice site joiner who will learn 1st fix and
2nd fix joinery, you will predominantly carry out work within domestic and commercial
Properties. Applicants must be reliable, hardworking and able to work well on your
own or as part as a team


The learner will gain onsite experience and the following qualifications


Training to be provided (Qualifications to be gained):
Apprenticeship standard in Carpentry and joinery
Functional Skills English Level 1
Functional Skills Math’s Level 1
Employment Rights and Responsibilities
Desired skills:

Basic understanding of joinery and a familiarity with
the tools of the trade, would be useful.

Experience of working in the construction industry
would be useful

Ability to follow clear instructions and follow health &
safety practices put in place

You may be asked to sit and pass the Construction skills exercise.

Have a genuine commitment to a construction trade.

Desired personal qualities:

Be motivated and punctual and ready to start work at
8am

Punctual and polite individual

To be able to work as part of a team


Future prospects:

• To progress to Level 3 Apprenticeship in Joinery
• To be a fully qualified Joiner

You must -
• Be committed to work, study and gain experience within the trade.
• Be work alongside fully qualified and experienced multi-skilled staff
• Maintain tools and equipment to the required levels and in accordance with health & safety standards.
• Maintain stock of building materials and help with restocking when needed
• Ability to follow clear instructions and follow health & safety practices put in place




Desired qualifications • GCSE A-D English or math’s (or equivalent such as Functional Skills Level 1)
