This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team as an Apprentice Greenkeeper at Ellesmere Golf Club, where your role will be to keep the course in the immaculate condition our members & visitors are accustomed to, by working alongside an experienced team of Greenkeepers.
Overview of the role
Preparing the golf course for play each day
Maintain areas of the golf course with hand mowers, flymos, strimmers and blowers
Learning to use machinery to maintain the turf (including tractors)
Applying turf treatments
General course and grounds maintenance,
Adhere to compound lock up procedure,
At all times, working within the club’s health and safety policies and procedures,
Selecting and using tools and equipment consistent with risk assessments,
Selecting and wearing appropriate footwear and clothing,
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with managers and colleagues and golfers,
Offer support to Golf Course Manager, Deputy Course Manager
Any other duties as required to achieve the expected standard.
Assisting with the maintenance of the golf course
Involved in all aspects of golf course set, bunker preparation, mowing techniques, drainage & irrigation, hedge cutting.
Good attention to detail
Strong communication skills so you can have effective conversations with customers and build professional rapport with anyone

Level 2- Golf Greenkeeping Standard
