Apprentice Bench Joiner

We are a specialist fit out, refurb and new-build contractor with our own bespoke joinery manufacturing facility.
We operate throughout the UK carrying out projects of varying size and complexity with a proven track record of delivering outstanding performance.
Our experienced team have delivered interior fit-outs, re-branding and refurbishment projects for some of the UKs best-known brands.

Overview of the role (what will the learner be doing and what will the learner gain):
We are looking to recruit an apprentice bench hand joiner who will learn the skills on
the job, you will be producing bespoke units, toilet cubicles, door casings and
fire doors. Applicants must be reliable, hardworking and able to work well on your
own or as part as a team
The learner will gain onsite experience and the following qualifications
NVQ Level 2 Wood Occupations

Training to be provided (Qualifications to be gained):
NVQ Level 2 Wood Occupations
Diploma Level 2 Wood Occupations
Functional Skills English Level 1
Functional Skills Maths Level 1
Employment Rights and Responsibilities

Desired skills:
Basic understanding of joinery and a familiarity with
the tools of the trade, would be useful.
Experience of working in the construction industry
would be useful
Ability to follow clear instructions and follow health & safety practices put in place
You may be asked to sit and pass the Construction skills exercise.
Have a genuine commitment to a construction trade.

Be motivated and punctual and ready to start work at
8am
Punctual and polite individual
To be able to work as part of a team

Future prospects:
To progress to Level 3 Apprenticeship in Joinery
To be a fully qualified Joiner

Be committed to work, study and gain experience within the trade.
Be work alongside fully qualified and experienced multi-skilled staff
Maintain tools and equipment to the required levels and in accordance with health & safety standards.
Maintain stock of building materials and help with restocking when needed
Ability to follow clear instructions and follow health & safety practices put in place

Desired qualifications
GCSE 3+ (A-D) English or maths (or equivalent such as Functional Skills Level 1)
