Course Funding

Learning and Skills Council

Students in receipt of an eligible income-based benefit are entitled to free tuition on courses identified with this symbol. Eligible income-based benefits are:

  • Council Tax Benefit (not single person)
  • Housing Benefit
  • Income Support
  • Job Seekers Allowance (letter from Job Centre)
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance(ESA)
  • Working Tax Credit with a household income of less than £15,276

Full Cost Courses

Full Cost Course fees are payable by all students, in all cases, there is no eligibility for any reduction or remission of this fee. Please see page 26 for more information.

Training 2 Gain

If you are over 19 years of age and employed, self-employed or a volunteer with an organisation, you may be eligible for funded training under Train to Gain

Full Level 2

Level 2 - You may be entitled to free tuition if you have not previously achieved a full Level 2 qualification. All other fees will still apply.

Full Level 3

Level 3 - You may be entitled to free tuition if you are aged between 19 and 24 and have not previously achieved a full Level 3 qualification. Or if you are aged 25 and over and have not previously achieved a full Level 2 qualification. All other fees will still apply.
